History

Wenceslas Square and 28. října Street are located in the heart of historic Prague and together with the Old Town Square create one of the most glorious historic complexes. It is here where the family of old Prague burghers opened a famous shop with original Czech glass in a burgher house whose origins date back to the first half of the 14th century.

The four-storey house "At the Golden Beehive", where the luxurious hotel has been newly opened after an extensive reconstruction, is the oldest house on Wenceslas Square and it was probably built in the second half of the 14th century. Since the 15th century, the building has been decorated with frescoes of famous Czech painters and offers incredible views of the spires and rooftops of the historic city centre. The second building belonging to the hotel complex has its origins in 1458. At the end of the 1940s, it was reconstructed and joined with the other building to make one building complex, where the modern and very cosy hotel is currently located.
